Poultry Feeds & Supplements: what to know before you buy
Choosing the right poultry feed for each stage
Chicks need a high-protein starter (around 18–20% crude protein) for the first eight weeks, then a growers mash until point-of-lay. Layers mash, with its extra calcium, should only be introduced when birds are close to laying — feeding it early can damage kidneys.
Broilers follow a shorter programme: starter crumbs for the first two to three weeks and finisher pellets to market weight at five to six weeks. Improved kienyeji birds do well on a dedicated kienyeji ration or a growers mash topped up with greens.
Supplements that protect your margins
Vitamin and electrolyte packs help birds cope with vaccination, transport and hot afternoons. Calcium grit and layer premixes support shell quality, while toxin binders reduce the effect of mould in stored grain when you mix your own feed.

Poultry feeds: frequently asked questions
How much feed does a laying hen eat per day?
A commercial layer eats roughly 110–130 g of layers mash per day depending on breed, body weight and temperature. A 70 kg bag feeds about 100 layers for five to six days.
Do you deliver poultry feed outside Nairobi?
Yes. We deliver feeds across Kenya through our distribution network, with lower per-bag rates for orders of 10 bags or more. Farmers in other East African markets can request a quote for bulk supply.
Can I mix my own poultry feed with your concentrates?
Yes. We supply premixes and protein concentrates for on-farm mixing. Ask our team for a ration formula matched to the maize and soya you have available.
