Dairy & Dairy Goat Herd Improvement Programme
Many dairy cows and goats produce far below their potential because of poor genetics and feeding. This programme works with dairy cooperatives and farmer groups to improve herds through artificial insemination with quality cattle and goat semen, heat synchronisation, better fodder and feeding, and simple breeding and milk records.
What the programme includes
AI & breeding plans
Group AI days with sexed and conventional cattle semen and Saanen, Toggenburg and Alpine goat semen.
Heat synchronisation
Synchronised breeding for groups of animals to make AI practical and affordable.
Fodder & feeding
Fodder establishment, conservation (silage and hay) and feeding-to-yield training.
Records
Breeding cards and milk records so improvement can be measured.
